The questions

• In what ways do you think Shakespeare is interesting to young people today?

• How did the idea of making a special Shakespeare 'play list' come about?

• How did you link your story to all the different plays of Shakespeare that you've used?

• Does the story draw upon any of your own personal experiences?

question

  • By paul eluard on 15/01/07 - 15:05

Why do you think Shakespeare's characters were created for young people?

music

  • By lolo on 15/01/07 - 15:09

did Shakespeare compose songs?

Response to music question from the author

  • By Jeff on 16/01/07 - 19:10

Music was very much a part of theatre in the time of Shakespeare and he included songs and references to songs in many of his plays. He had a good knowledge of music and sometimes used popular songs (popular during Shakespeare's time) in his plays. So he may not have actually composed the music himself. A Midsummer Night's Dream and Twelfth Night are two plays which have songs and where music is very important, but there are many more.

Response to question about characters from the author

  • By Jeff on 16/01/07 - 19:21

I don't think Shakespeare created his characters just for young people, but for everyone. Yet, I believe young people today can relate to many of these characters because they face some of the same challenges and struggles as these characters.

question

  • By Burak alias bubu on 22/01/07 - 15:06

Is there a pop music

;p

Response to music questions

Our play uses modern music -- and really all different types --some techno, a little jazz, hip-hop, even clown music!

Response about the subject of ShakesPod

Yes, our play is about love and despair. It is also about deception and rebellion and standing up for yourself and figuring out who you are and what you want. I wouldn't say the events in the play are from my life specifically, but the events could belong to anyone's life.

See you soon

Hello, I'm a French student and my English Speciality' teacher drives us to this play, so I hope I'll enjoy it but I think there wont be any matter about it !

question

  • By mamou on 04/03/07 - 17:00

hello jeffrey what do you think about this shakespeare say "the world's a stage and men and women merely players" think you

All the World

Shakespeare often compared things in his writing. Here he is comparing the "stage" or "theatre" to the "world." He is talking about how people pass through certain "stages" in their lives as they change and grow up and get old. But I think he is also explaining that he gets his inspiration for what he puts in his plays by the people and the "world" around him. What do you think it means?

about Shakespod

I am a student in 3ème in "Sainte-clotilde". We will go to watch your play and before that, we are working on Shakespeare and Shakespod. It is very interesting for us: we can perfect our English.

I hope you will understand what I said,

See you on february the 18th

Good luck, 3ème 8
